  • static in speakers when I turn on headlights

I installed a Rockford Fosgate Punch P450.4 60Wx4 amp and 4 Polk Audio db651 speakers in my 1998 Jeep grand Cherokee last fall. I have enjoyed them without any problems until about 2 weeks ago when I noticed a faint static buzz coming from the speakers when I turn my headlights or parking lights on....

  • Jeep Liberty aftermarket component question

One of the front door speakers blew (not the tweeters but one of the woofers on the door). I know there are no direct replacements, so to benefit from better quality I was planning to get a new component system. There are pretty good systems for $150 but how can I replace the tweeters? They are underneath...

  • What to do about factory tweeters on Jeep after installing aftermarket head unit, 4-ch amp, 4 door speakers

I have a '03 Jeep Liberty Limited and just installed (details below) aftermarket tuner, XM tuner, 4-channel power amplifier and 4 door speakers. I still have the front factory tweeters installed. It is hard for me to tell how it would sound without the tweeters installed, but they definitely ruin the...

  • Re: Advice on a set-up for my '99 Jeep

Hey Cobrakillerta, Sounds like you are off to an excellent start. I definitely would recommend changing the speakers as your next step. If it were me, I would go with some speakers that can be powered by the Kenwood radio alone, but also have the ability to be powered by an after-market amp if you choose...

  • Using doors stock speaker wires for 100 watts

I plan on using stock speaker wires on my 2000 Grand Cherokee (non Infinity system) and getting an Alpine PDX 4x100 rms amp to power a set of components, maybe Boston SX60's. A Crutchfield rep stated, "unless your going over 100 watts there's is no need to change the cars speaker wires". I hope he's...

  • 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee tweeter location

I have a couple of questions. I just bought some Alpine SPS-600C speakers for the front, and Alpine SPS-600 speakers for the rear. I installed the rear speakers, no problem. I have no clue where to put the tweeters in the front. I was thinking of drilling a hole about 6" up from the speaker housing....

  • Speaker/Tweeter Set - Tweeters Only work?

Hey guys. I am kinda new when it comes to installing speakers and all. I recently decided to install a new Sony CD Player and VDP speakers in my YJ Jeep. The Sony CD Player came with the wiring kit so that was pretty much plug and play. The new speakers are 2x-6" Speakers and 2x- Tweeters, they have...

  • Polk mmc525 crossover installation, 06 Jeep Wrangler

I recently purchased the Polk MMC525s for my Jeep Wrangler's roll bar speakers. ( MM460s in the front) I've got the Kenwood X40 powering the speakers. I'm just wondering about the crossovers. (oh, and I'm quite the noob when it comes to this) So anyway, I've got the crossovers connected to the speakers...
