Given the pricing criteria, I think you will find an LCD set will pack more features and quality into that segment. Personally if you are going to watch movies, I'd go plasma. Not that LCD variants haven't made improvements but a movie on a plasma TV is just breath taking. I like the smaller LCD's for TV's in side rooms. But for a big screen, main TV, I feel that the LCD versions just can't keep up when images change...
