Hi! I have an Alpine PMD-B200 Blackbird that works great when I operate it in portable mode. When I dock the Blackbird in the vehicle's IVA-W505 head unit the display is readable but appears to lose resolution and the colors are mainly black and blue. The IVA-W505 display works great in any other...

Need some help! I had a JVC KW-NX7000 nav/dvd unit installed in my 2008 Avalanche to go along with my Bose sound system. Here are my issues: 1) The unit is now sticking out about 1/2" from the dash. Can the nx7000 unit be recessed so that it is flush with the dash? It just looks pretty bad right now...

I am looking to buy an In-dash NAV Unit. I have looked at the Pioneer AVIC-Z2, the Kenwood DNX8120 and the Alpine IVA505 blackbird combo. Anyone have any thought on these units? Which ones to buy or avoid??? Any other units to consider? How hard to do the install myself??? Talk amongst yourselves......

Recently installed a 7120 with 2 amps - 1 driving the subwoofer and 1 controlling the door speakers (4 speakers - 1 in each door). My issue is that when the navigation system voice turn-by-turn is active, it only mutes the door speakers but not my sub. So I'm hearing the nav tell me where to go while...

Hello Malludude and welcome to the Crutchfield forums. Since your vehicle can accommodate a double DIN receiver, you have several really great options. If you want to keep it on the more affordable side, I recommend checking out the new Pioneer AVIC-D3X . This model offers outstanding navigation and...

Paul, thank you for responding. I'm taking the vehicle back to the audio shop tomorrow and making them take a third look at it. Any idea - specifically - as to what I should have them check? While they're in there, I'm going to have them reduce the volume on the warning chimes. They have it maxed and...

VERY minor problem, but an annoyance nonetheless. I had a Pioneer AVIC-D3 navigation radio installed. They used the GM-specific LAN harness and "brain" unit (sorry I don't have the name/model # with me here at work). That allowed me to keep OnStar functioning and keep use of all my steering wheel controls...

I just checked our information on the Kenwood KVT-915DVD receiver and the Kenwood KNA-G510 navigation add-on will work with it. Your KVT receiver has a navigation input that will allow the G510 to connect to it. They will work fine together. HTH!

I have a 05 Nissan Pathfinder with the premium sound and a factory overhead dvd player. Now i want to replace the head unit with a double din dvd/nav but would like to keep the factory over head unit and use it as a monitor. Does anyone know if this is possible?

If your vehicle does not have factory navigation, then you probably don't have a speed sensor wire. If that is the case, then you need a speed pulse generator to make it work. Just so you know, this installation is pretty difficult and I would recommend a professional installer to do it. You should try...
