  • My 2nd Onkee TX-705

Well I have to hand it to the Crutchfield team. They came through in amazing fashion as usual. Uncommon in todays markets will you find a better retailer either web based or mail order or whatever. This outfit is the "greatest" hands down. It seems the problems I"ve been having ( see my buzzing post...

  • Onkyo TX-SR705 w/External Amp

I own a 705 and want to add a little more "clean" power to send to my speakers. If I get an external amp to drive my surrounds, will the unused power from my 705 be divided among the fronts and center or will it still send 100w to each of them. I have never used an amp before so I am not sure exactly...

  • Got my cooling rig for my Onkyee and surround sound question

Hi all, OK, got the cooling rig last night and assembled it and it now sits on top of my TX-SR705. Yeah, it came completely unassembled with no directions, but it was easy to put together. All I had to do was see which way the fans blow and from there it was 10 minutes to completion. I have the two fans...

  • Having trouble choosing the right cooling fan

I'm having trouble choosing a cooling fan for my Onkyo TX-SR705. I don't want to purchase four fans before I find the right one. I want to get it right the first time. I saw some reviews when I first looked which helped, but now they are not there. I looked at every A/V component cooling system and can...

  • Onkyo TX-SR605 vs TX-SR705

I purchased a TX-SR605 receiver from Crutchfield about a month ago but have yet to take it out of the box because it's going in my newly finished basement but not for a couple weeks yet. After reading numerous posts about how good the TX-SR705 is, I'm beginning to wonder if I purchased a sub-par receiver...

  • Denon AVR-2308ci vs. Onkyo TX-SR705

Please help me out on this. I'm very new to HTS and don't know much about it. I have been reading previous posts and herd a lot of good things about Onkyo 705. My friend in the business who will be installing my HTS for me, is suggesting that I buy the Denon AVR-2308ci. I don't know what to get and can...

  • Your opinion on which Onkyo...

I'm just curious as to which Onkyo receiver you guys and gals find to be better, the TXSR606 or the 705? The 705 is more powerful, but doesnt have the 1080i upconversion for anolog. My primary uses will be the basics, gaming/movies/music and I will run 5.1 until I decide to pick up 2 more speakers for...

  • I took the plunge and bought a receiver last night.....The Onkyo TX-SR705

I got talked into it. I just ordered an Onkyo TX-SR705 to replace my blown Kenwood of 20 years. (Bye bye old trusty Kenwood) Looking at my other equipment (I don't have anything fancy with multi-connectivity except the DVD recorder. My TV is 15 years old and still working great, but only has one composite...
