  • Re: Toyota antenna issue

Kind of reviving an old thread here but I'm having 2 issues with my new stereo install that I'm pulling my hair out over: First off, I've got a 2004 4runner LTD with the JBL 6 disc in-dash changer and JBL sound system (w/out navigation). I've replaced the in dash reciever with the following components...

  • Alpine IDAX100 vs IDAX001

Hi all, I'm looking at buying one of the 2 above units. They seem to suit me (ipod/radio for me, usb drive for the kids), & i love the look, i'm an artwork sucker! The guy i spoke to said that the original version (IDAX001) was actually better than it's successor. His only real reason he could give...

  • Re: Alpine vs. Kenwood

TigerHeli: Your car is supposed to take 6.5-inch speakers in the front. If it were mine, I would be asking CF what it would take to fit Polk DB651 or DB651s or MMC6500's or SPS-17C2 speakers in the front - which will give you more bass and move the sound stage forward so you don't NEED to amp the 6x9...

  • What to do with the USB cable?

Hi Everyone. I just purchased a Kenwood KDC-MP538U which features a built in USB interface to control an iPod through the head unit. My question is for anyone who's installed this radio. Where did you route the USB cable to? I've heard two popular places to put it is either the glove box or inside the...

Hey everybody, Last December I got a 2004 Toyota Corolla and I can’t stand the pain it causes me when I have to listen to its stock system. It’s horrible in every way possible. • Re: Pioneer AVIC D3X - Lots of noise from speaker..

Hey mnsweeps, It sounds like you may have a problem in one of your wiring connections. In the JBL amp wiring configuration , (see the top figure in the link) the 10th position should have a bare wire that needs to be connected to the chasis ground. It will normally be covered in grey tubing. If that...
