  • First Time Buyer: considering a simple upgrade over stock but have questions

I recently got my first car: a 2000 volksvagen beetle but have been driving it for years. I have never been impressed with the car speakers so I want to upgrade them but not substantially because I do not want to invest too much in this car and I do not need 'loud' blasting music. I just want...

Then 6x9" Polk MMC 690s on the rear deck. The front doors are rated at 55w rms and the rear speakers are rated 100w rms. I'm adding a 4 channel...

  • Re: 4 new kicker KS650/KS600 vs '04 Jeep Liberty stock system

The only thing that I can think of would be that the Kicker speakers can handle up to 65 watts RMS power. Since stock systems never go over 20 watts of power (and most are even less than that), then it could be that the Kicker speakers aren't getting enough power to produce powerful bass. An amp should...

  • Is this possible?

Hi I plan to add audio system to my car. I would be buying a hear unit (2 RCA) with 4 speakers and an amp. Is it possible to attach the rear speakers to an amp and have the front speakers run directly from the head unit?

  • Re: Alpine iDA-X001 w/ Infinity Kappas

If I were you, I would go with an amp. While the speakers can be powered by a receiver, I know that a receiver does not come close to giving them the full power they can handle. In order to get good bass from them, you will need the power of an amp as they can output more than double what a receiver...
