I haven't noticed any distortion with my DLP. I can sit on the floor, off to the side of the TV, and still see the picture clearly. My TV is approximately 36" off the floor.

In your situation I would really look into DLP sets. The reason I like DLP is because once someone does a price comparion [comparing feature contnent for a screen that size] it is very easy to justify a DLP set. I use mine to watch movies all the time and watch standard TV without any noticable flaws...

Just make sure the TV you buy has a good contrast ratio, and a very bright picture. I have my DLP in a room with a bay window + two other widows and the TV preforms very well on sunny days.

In my opinion DLP is the way to go unless you have space constraints and/or plan on hanging the TV on the wall. The DLP option eliminates most of the issues that LCD and Plasma (use to?) have. DLP sets uses a light bulb that can be readily replaced and does not effect the display (like burn-in, pixel...
