Hello,

Thanks for shopping on the Crutchfield web site.

In answer to your question about purchasing a new CD/MP3 receiver for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, I will be happy to help. We carry a good variety of models to choose from at Crutchfield and I am sure we have one to suit your needs and preferences.

Based on what you have told me and the models listed to fit your Silverado, I recommend the Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X492 CD Receiver. This high-powered receiver plays CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RW discs, including discs loaded with MP3, WMA, and AAC files (will not play rights-protected music files on disc), has front USB and auxiliary inputs, and offers plenty of expandability options should you decide to add onto your system at a later date.

For even more information, be sure to click on the various information tabs on the individual product's page. And, by clicking on the "What's in the box?" link on the left side of each product's page you can find out what comes with it, along with a downloadable owner's manual. For even more information, be sure to click on the "Hands-on Research", "Features & Specs", and "Reviews" tabs on the individual product's page.

You'll need to connect the Crutchfield wiring harness or OEM adapter we offer to the harness that comes with your new radio. This involves stripping and connecting together about 12 or 13 wires (speaker wires, power, ground, etc). To make this easy we've got two things for you. First the S&G wire cutter and stripper tool makes stripping the little ends off the wire just about the easiest thing you've ever done. (Seriously, check out the "5-out-of-5 star" customer reviews on this wire stripper.) Next, once you have the wires stripped you can use the Posi-Products Car Stereo Connection Kit. The kit comes with 16 wire caps. You just strip your stranded wires, insert them in the caps, and then hand tighten the two caps together - very easy.
