I was the lucky auction winner of a Nakamichi CD Player 4. I love the sound of vinyl, and usually only listen to CDs when I am in my car. However, after hearing this player for the first time, I am starting to like the sound of CDs more on my home system. This player sounds so good.......warm, not harsh, transparent, etc, etc, etc. It's not as good as vinyl.....but I love it! I sure wish Nakamichi would re-enter the home audio market. I'm considering a Nak receiver for my car next.

If you like the sound of that unit, you'd probably like the performance of the NAD C 545BEE. CD technology has for years had the processing necessary to deliver near perfect (while I know perfect doesn't exist) sound. Vibration is something that is caused simply by a CD player doing what it does, yet it does add distortion (at small levels). A well-built chassis like the Nakamachi has as well as the NAD helps to fight and dampen vibration. Add that to the large toroidal power supply and the premium Wolfon DAC, you have yourself a great sounding CD Player.
While Nakamachi may not be available in the home market now, there are other options.
Does anyone else have a recommendation or suggestion here?
