Ipod nano 5 gen wont connect

This question is answered

I have a kenwood kvt-512 installed in my vehicle, that i cant get to connect to my Nano. It connects with my older ipod so I've been using that.

Do I need a new cable to make the Nano work? If so what cable do I need to buy. Also I did the kenwood installation upgrade it still wont play in the car....

thanks.

  • The iPod connection is only compatible with Nanos up to 4th gen. Unfortunately there's not another cable that will allow you to connect that iPod using the dock connector. You could certainly connect is as an AUX device using the headphone plug, but you will have no control or charging.

You can see a complete chart of compatible iPods using the following link.

Sorry I don't have better news.

  • Unfortunately that won't help. That part is designed to help fix issues where the iPod doesn't charge. It doesn't change anything else about the connection to create better compatibility and such.
