I have seen this happen before if the iPod is connected to the X001 (or any other iPod interface Alpine or other) when the battery on the iPod is already dead before plugging it in. Apparently the iPod has to have some charge for it to recognize through the various direct connect interfaces on the market...

I picked up a 160GB Classic and also a 16GB Touch, was using a 2G Nano which displayed cover art fine with my DDX8019 and KCA-IP300V. With the Classic, my older music videos purchased from iTunes work fine. They are all more than a year old. Anything purchased recently or any TV shows do not work properly...

The video resume works for me as well. Do keep in mind that I do have the 80gb and not the 160gb if that in anyway makes a difference.

Yes I did get a response but you’re not going to like it. Per our tech rep @ Kenwood, they have the patch worked out but the existing firmware for the iPod classic needs to be updated in order for their patch to work properly. As he understands it, Apple should be releasing a new firmware version...

I had the dnx7100 installed two days ago along with the purchase of the 160gb ipod classic.  I finally got everything together today and tried everything out.  I was disappointed to find that the video function would not work.  I updated my ipod and read up on the manual to see if i missed anything....

my 160gb classic resumes just fine after the update although it is still kinda of a pain i have to go to the ipod menu select movies and then reselect the movie i was watching playback then resumes from where i left off

Ok, so I tested my downgraded 5th gen 60gb iPod with my CDA-9886 with 8000+ songs and it works perfectly!!! Ahhh... such a feeling of triumph over the machine. Uninstall iTunes if you are using 7.4 or more your library will be saved for when you re-install iTunes. I don't use 7.5 because it is weird...

It only seems to be affecting the 5th gen ipods, If you have any of the others you should be fine. I would still recommend the 9886. I don't even need the ipod integration. I posted earlier that my friend's 6th gen iPod Classic didn't work right. Well, I went over to his house yesterday and it turns out he has the 5th gen 80GB iPod, which he for some reason thought was a 6th gen... Anyway, I plugged in my 6th gen Classic and it worked great.
