Alpine sps-600c install in Silverado

  • I am considering installing  an Alpine SPS-600C component system in my 2006 ext cab Silverado w factory radio and 6 speaker system. The front doors have separate wiring leads for the 6 1/2" woofer and the tweeter.  Should I use these or do the tweeters need to be wired through the woofer with the supplied inline crossover cable as shown by the install instructions and consequently leave the factory tweeter wiring unused?
  • That depends if you have the Bose system (or a factory amped system) or not.

CF shows the tweeters are wired in parallel with the woofers, so you would run either pair of wires to the new crossovers.

OTOH, if you have an amp and truely have SEPARATE wires running to the woofers and tweeters, the signals are likely crossed over in the amp at a different frequency than the SPS-600C's want, and you probably have to bypass the amp to make it work.

    Hope This Helps!!!
