I used to have a CDA 9856 alpine hooked up to tha KCA-100BT and worked just fine , I got now a CDA 9886 and I'm stroggling to make them work properly, I'm wondering if some one have.thanks
Well, I have your answer but I don’t think you’re going to like it.
The KCA-100BT adapter was only meant for use with compatible Alpine Ai-Net headunits produced between 2004 and 2006. While your Alpine CDA-9886 does offer the Ai-Net expansion port, the KCA-100BT adapter is not forwards compatible with 2008 receivers. I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you there.
To get Bluetooth capability on your CDA-9886, you’ll want to get the Alpine KCE-460BT bluetooth interface. This newer adapter connects to the Alpine’s “full speed iPod” pigtail and leaves the Ai-Net port available for other compatible accessories. Because the adapter has the iPod passthru, you will not lose the ability to display, control, and charge your compatible iPod.
I hope that helps.
