So when I install my replacement sub tomorrow I should have 28.28v with a multimeter at the speaker terminals?

I thought I was being conservative with the gain. Like I said it was set around 60% give or take. Which from what I understand would've been ok. I think I missed the part where Kicker amps are 5v sensitive and if your h/u puts out 5v the gain needs to be turned all the way down. Any clarification on this?

[quote user="J Ro"] Saying your sub "blew" is too vague. You didn't mention the nature of the failure, but since you said it was used only 4 hours, i would bet that it overheated. 200hz seems like a high setting for a 12in sub. 1. The more I've been reading up on the install the easier it seems. 2. So I def need the PAC module? I've heard conflicting reports about what I do and do not need. 3. Yeah I was really impressed with the Kicker subs, In my old system I had a sony xplod and it was good at the time but im looking for alittle bit more 4. So I should upgrade to

Hello, I'm a new crutchfield user and I have to be perfectly honest. Where has this site been my entire life? Now on to the big questions. I've lived with the factory system in my car since I bought it thinking I wouldn't miss it. However, as an avid music lover it left ALOT to be desired. Now that I've gotten a better job and have a
