I tried the tape trick earlier today. Still couldn't get it to work. I guess last option is to disassemble the dash. Oh well. Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried that myself. I've been messing with this for quite sometime now. Quick question though, did you notice anything wrong with the side springs after you removed the stereo? Were they damaged at all? Like I mentioned before, I have a feeling that the spring is somehow damaged/malfunctioned. Thanks.

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I am trying to remove the factory stereo out of my 2003 Ford Escape. I have a pair of DIN removal tools and I am still unable to get the stereo out. I understand how they work, but I have a feeling that there may be something wrong with the left side spring bracket (broken maybe?) that is locking the
