  • Re: Suggestions

It sounds like your friend is a fan of Alpine. The Type R's are good but the Rockford speakers are also good. I compare this type of question to the "what's the best flavor of ice cream" question. You'll get varying opinions with reasons for them. But ultimately they're opinions.

  • Re: Which type of enclosure?

Personally, I prefer a sealed box since it's more accurate and the bass is "tighter". Here's a good explanation of each version that should help. Subwoofer Enclosures

  • Re: Which speakers should be playing?

Question #1 - The Effect button on that receiver turns the Surround Processing on and off. When it's off, you are only going to get the front left and front right speakers. You will not have anything from the center. With the Effect on, you need to then press the DSP button to select Pro Logic or Pro Logic Enhanced. These two modes will decode for

  • Re: PLEASE HELP!!!!!

What happens when you play regular CD's? Do you have any issues playing the "higher" tracks? If you do, then i suspect it's a problem with the mechanism. Assuming you don't, I suggest you re-burn the CD and make sure that all of the tracks are usable file types. Also, make sure you burn at a slower speed. When I do this, I try

Unfortunately you can't post photos directly. You need to have an account with an online picture hosting service like Photobucket or Imageshack, etc. You put the photo there and then post a link it in the forum.

  • Re: no AM reception

You should have gotten this antenna adapter . Connect the Blue wire on the adapter to the Blue/White wire on the JVC harness and you should get your AM reception back.

  • Re: Alpine IVA-W505 USB Search Problem

Every manufacturer is going to sort things differently and unfortunately what works one place, may not work in another. If changing the tags is not an option, then there's not much else you can do.

The firmware update should not have changed anythig about charging. It's likely that the receiver has failed and you will need to return it. I've seen the firmware break functionality but charging is a physical function, not a software one.

  • Re: DNX5140 'PLIST' function on USB not working??

As with everything else it seems lately, it's probably going to require a software update. How long it takes will probably be related to how many people are having trouble with (wanting to use) this particular feature.

  • Re: DNX7120 and IPOD

Well if that's what's happening then I have to attribute it to software or a defect. You'll either need to send the unit to Kenwood for evaluation (repair) or simply wait and hope a future software release for the Kenwood resolves the problem. It's not something I've seen as being a widespread probelm though, so it is likely to be
