  • Re: Receiver or Antenna Problem - Please Help?

make sure your reciever is getting full power from your car. Also, pull the Head Unit, and make sure that the antenna is properly seated into the back of the Reciever, and that your antenna on the outside of your vehicle is screwed on tight (yes, they can be unscrewed off) Most vehicles run about 14 volts or so when the engine is on, and about 12 volts

  • Re: Reinstall Factory Stereo After JVC From Crutchfield Stolen - 2003 Tribute

There should be 2. When crutchfield sent you the CD player, they should have sent you a wiring harness to work with your new stereo. You'll have to unhook that one and hook the old harnesses up to the stereo. otherwise, the pins won't match up to where they need to, and the stereo won't work.

  • Re: newb usb question

My cousin had a pathfinder and the way they did it, was they driled a hole in the corner of the glove box, and then put a thing in like you would if you drilled a hole in the firewall. Made it look clean. Remember, the Ipod will only work if the Head Unit has either a built in Ipod Adapter, or you purchased an ipod adapter for it. What Head Unit are

  • Speaker Baffles?

I was thinking about experimenting with some, but one question is pondering me the more I look at them. They're supposed to seal, but, where do I put the wires? I can't just poke a hole and send the harness through, because that would break the seal, and going out the baffle would cause there to be a seal break around the edge of the speaker

  • Re: Do 1000 watt subs sound good at low volume?

My experience... You get an amp to power it properly, it will sound good at any volume, cause it will provide the right amount of watts for that volume level. Your amp doesn't send your subs 1000 watts all the time, only when you max out the volume. Otherwise the volume would be the same all the time. But, 2 500wRMS subs will produce lower volumes easier

  • Re: kicker vs alpine

I replied to the amp ratings for the Maxxonics Crunch amp, but I guess I didn't get the message through. "That Maxxsonics amp I found puts out 125wRMSx2@4 ohms 200watts peak, or 450wRMSx1 Bridged @4ohms 1000wpeak. Not nearly enough for 2 cvr's. But, you could power some lower powered subs, or power one cvr@4 ohms." I found that downloading a PDF Maxxonics

  • Re: Need a good 10" shallow sub for my Kenwood 9104d Mono Amp, and some more questions...

If your planning on getting 2 subs, and run 1 @ 4 ohms for now, Get the DVC 2-ohm version of those subs. Wire each sub in series @ 4 ohms, and then when you get the second one, wire them both together in parallel into 2 ohms. this is called series-parallel wiring. do series when you just have one, and then series-parallel when you get the second. that

  • Re: Do i have to have an amp if i get a reciever?

No, your Head Unit has its own amplifier. The nicer Head Units have a 22wRMS/50wPeak x 4 or higher amp built in. Also, the shaker 500 system I'm pretty sure has its own amp, and if you use the crutchfield supplied wiring harness, the speakers should get powered by the shaker's amp As for the ipod, you either need a Head Unit with an Aux input, or an

  • Re: amp problem

You said the sub was 1200wpeak, but you didn't say whether the 1000w was RMS or Peak. Theres a HUGE difference. You could have blown the voice coil on the sub. Also, check the remote to make sure its hooked up to the HU correctly. either your RCA output is shot, or the input is shot on your amp. Try plugging the rca's into either another amp, or so
