I had a similar experence with my alpine 9885 (same family as the 8993) The alpine 9886 sounded much better. Try your old one see if that helps

There are also 3 channel amps Just make sure the 2 subs don't exceed the load limits on the mono channel of the amp.

I screwed my 50in Plasma to my stand. If your stand is wood you can do this. If it is Glass I would get rid of it. just do a youtube search for TVs crashing through glass stands.

I saw a difference betweek HDMI, and VGA. The HDMI looked much better. I got a DVI to HDMI cable and hooked it up that way, it looked much better than the straight VGA cable.

I don't Have an IDA, but I had an Issue with my 9886 and my 5th gen IPOD 80GB, and It was fixed with an apple update. Just be patient, it will come. I don't know if Iphones are updated from the 3G or Itunes

Usually if you don't use the ground wire at all, and the HU is mounted in plastic the Hu will use the antenna for a ground, and maybe that is far enough away from the Noisy parts of the metal in the dash area. try to unplug the ant cable while the unit is on, I bet it turns off (no ground).

My speakers came with instructions on how to take my dash apart and how to take my doors apart. Yours should too, but just to be sure, maybe you should call CF first, maybe they will even e-mail these to you so you can choose the speakers you want better.

I have heard 1 fered for each 500 watts, since you are using 1600 RMS you would need at least 4. The 5 should give you plenty of head room I don't think that too big would be a problem, except for the cost.

i don't what kind of crossovers the amp has, but since you have a sub, you can cut the low bass out of the 6x9s. just use the same frequency you have the subs set at. If you have the sube playing anything under 80htz, then set the HPF to your 6x9's at 80 as well. and try it out, i had to play with my crossover settings a lot in my old car, but I had

I have a real cheap and ugly work around. The DVD changer has composite vid, and audio jacks on the front of it, I just plug in my little portable dvd player in, and use that. shame i cant get something else to work.
