  • Re: Grossly overpowering Focal components?

I run an amp that is overkill for my speakers, I just set the gain really low. Or even set the gains with a DMM to aproxx 75watts rms to prevent smoking them.

How we could get around the bandwith issue is to post the pics with a site such as photo bucket and embed the code for pics and videos. I think that would be cool also, maybe a how to section, With steps on how to do things like glass, or even instruction on building a good box, to match your subs.

I think we should have an area to show off our stuff and skillz!!!! An area where we can post pics and videos, of the equipment and install install. Everything from the tear down to and thru the build! I have been spending some time on another forum that has one, and I can't get enough. The box can make a HUGE difference! You said you have a no name amp, that could also be the problem. (get what you pay for thing) Could be how you have the subs wired to the amp. Why don't you post some model numbers, or specs of your equipment.

I just happen to put my fingers in the basket and puss up on the cone and pop and cone stuck up, pushed it down and pop again. If a better ground for the head unit does not take care of it, try some low or zero noise rcas. I have a tine bit of noise too, but I know its because one set of rcas has split in the plastic. There about 7 years old and been in almost as many cars lol. Good luck.

  • Me and Infinity are thru!!!! any replacement suggestions

It seems every set of infinity's I run, I blow something, I try to run about RMSish. I noticed a terrible sound coming from my mid bass today, BLOWN! When I was playing with the fade and balance I noticed one of the rear mid bass was not working. I have had plenty of troubles with infinity over the years, But, the perfect mid bass blowing is the last
