It's factory so I'll have to check the specs. The installer said it was not possible so I'm guessing he might be right. Drats.

How do you send the video to the rear monitor? I have a Mountaineer with a DVD player/screen dropdown in the back seat. When I had the DNX8120 installed the installer said that only audio could play back there.

If I understand correctly, you are saying that while navigating you would like to see a clock with the current time as opposed to or in addtion to the arrival time? If so, then you can do that by going into the GPS settings to the Map Fields & selecting Thin (I'm not sure of the exact path -- doing this from memory). That gives you 4 locations to

Have you registered your unit on the Garmin website? If not, try that. I believe they will send you a free upgrade if you buy a unit that has maps older than the current version. The sticky part comes when you get a product & the maps are updated within a few weeks. Then they may or may not upgrade you, from what I have seen. It is the same info

I believe the only change from 1.60 to 1.61 is to fix it to work with the iPhone. I posted a link to the Apple site where someone else posted a link to the Raphidshare site in another thread. I'll see if I can find it. The link is in this thread: Kenwood DNX8120 - What is the latest software / firmware version? Last post in that thread was on August

Yes, sure did. The unit was completely up to date with firnware, too. Both the Garmin & the Bluetooth were the latest official versions (2.40 & 1.60 respectively). I did update the Bluetooth to 1.61 that I got from Rapidshare a few weeks ago since my husband also has the iPhone 3G, I was very pleased with the obvious newness of the unit.

Good advice. We're hooking the camera up this weekend & my husband hasn't decided yet if he wants it on all the time so he can always watch the trailer, or only when he is in reverse. We'll have to consider the wear & tear possibility of being on all the time.

The installation notes on the Crutchfield site say that the bracket has to be removed so we were pretty sure it was going to be ok to do so. But, we had to call Crutchfield with some wiring questions & the guy who helped us also has a Silverado with the DNX8120 & he said he did not have to remove the bracket for his install. I think he also

We are installing this unit in my husband's 2006 Silverado. We're going to have to cut out the metal rear support bracket to make room. My husband is not sure how best to cut it out. Any suggestions?
