small budget, small car, small son wants some bass

We just puchases a package amp, sub from "Fusion", we were not impressed, boxed it up and shipped it back. Decided to spend a little more and bought 2- Pioneer TS-W302R 12" Subs 800w/max, impedance 4 ohms, and also a Sony Xplod XM-1652Z 1000w max power 2/1 channel power amp. Can someone tell me please if this is a compatable system to wire up or not, I am very unknowledgeable with this stuff and just trying to help my very impatient 15 year old son. Please advise us B4 we try to wire this up. Thanks!!!!

2 JBL's and 1 Xplod Amp HELP

Hey guys well Ive thought about this over and over again and I just cant figure it out at all.

I bought a Sony Xplode XM-D9001GTR Mono D amp which has these specs

The problem which I am having is

1. The Amp i have says Bridged into 4 ohms so theres 2 channels (2 + and 2 -) coming out of the amp but its still mono in the end

2. The Subwoofer says its 1 or 4 ohms depending on wiring each sub how do I wire it up for 1 ohm each sub when I got the subs brand new the jumper was set in series going like this + -__+- so the plus and the minus were attatched together.

My question is is it possible to wire the 2 subs together so they produce 2 ohm stable because I think if each sub can be 4 or 1 ohm then 1+1 would be 2 ohms and how do i do this Ive looked into this so much and i cant figure it out at all because if i do it in series like most sites tell me to I get it being a dvc at 2 ohms each voice coil to be 2+2=4 ohms each sub no? then 4+4 is 8 ohms on the amp

anyone can clarify this and help me get a 2 ohm setup?

Based on the information you've provided, it sounds like you've selected the Sony XS-L120B5D enclosure. This box offers two 12" SVC 2 Ohm subwoofers, wired in series to present a 4 Ohm impedance on a single speaker terminal. The 4 Ohm total impedance allows you to bridge a two cannel amplifier to the box.

With the information you provided on the amplifier, it seems you've purchased the XM-2165GTX. When this amplifier is bridged to a 4 Ohm load, it can provide up to 400 watts of RMS power. Because the enclosure is rated for up to 600 watts, the 400 watts provided from the amplifier will be a decent match, but not enough to realize the full potential of the enclosure. We generally recommend powering your subwoofers with at least 70% of their capacity. Your application utilizes around 66% of the enclosure's power capability.

Sub/Amp Relation

I just purchased 2 12" 1000 watt sony Xplod subs in the ported box from circuit city. Its handling capabilities is 200 watts and 600RMS and there 4 ohm subs. I purchased the 1000 Watt Sony Xplod amp. It can push 165 Watts x2 at 4 ohms. I dk if if this is a good match. let me know what u think and if u know of any amps that would be better

AMP/Sub ?

Hi every one. I have a couple quick question, I have a Kenwood KAC-8103D Amp. It is rated at 300 RMS @ 4ohms and 500 RMS @2ohms 1000 Peak. I had it hooked up to a single 12" Sony Xplod sub that is 350 RMS and runs 4 ohms 1200 Peak, because I have an SUV I really had no need for two subs in the car because everything is wide open and it gets so loud. Well after having it set up with a single for about two weeks I decided to see how it would handle both Sony's to my surprise there was no distortion or clipping, I ran it for about 4 hours straight at a fairly high level to find out if the amp would get hot but it never even got warmer then it did with the singly sub hooked which was almost cold to the touch. Well my question is how bad is this for the Amp if I continue the run it at normal levels like this? because I have actually enjoyed having both subs hooked up. oh and another question I have is I ordered a 2 Farad Capacitor to hook up because I'm running the Kenwood Mono Amp and A 4 Channel Alpine I figured 2 Farad may be a little bit much but for the price I got it at I had to get it. That and I figured if ever want to upgrade my system any higher that Cap would work fine, Was this a wise choice or will the capacitor be two much and i run into problems with it.

Im not extremely experienced, but heres what i think. if you are listening to metal or other rock that has really fast double bass lines, i would probably go with two ten inch subs in a sealed box. The double bass will come out a lot cleaner than if you have 2 12" subs, like i do. the twelves are really sloppy at really high speeds and sound really muddy in a bandpass box like i have. But the larger subs will make your Rap sound a lot bigger and move more air. if i were you, i would maybe try building your own box, them find a couple of shallow mount 10 inch subs like the Sony XS-L10S or Kenwood KFC-XW1000F. You should also add new speakers to your system, it will sound way better.

Hello, very new to car audio.

I have a sony "monoblock xmsd51x" From what i remember when I was first purchased this amp its rated at 1100w max.... my question is if I purchase the Kicker Comp VR 07CVR122 or Kicker Comp VR 07CVR124 I was looking at getting two of them...

Will either one of these work with my old amp? If so what do I need to do to ensure it does?(wiring etc)

TIA for any help or suggestions...
