And being the home video producer, I've seen a lot of gear pass before our camera lens. So I thought I'd share three products that made me say "wow" as we got them ready for their close up.

1. Yamaha's RX-V3800 (right) is a beautiful receiver. It's not often one can say that -- even powerful, feature-rich receivers can look pretty plain Jane. But after we'd unpacked the 'V3800 for the shoot, we all stood around, leaning over to be level with the faceplate, commenting on how clean and smooth and sleek it looked. I love our images online, but they can't really do it justice. And as you can see from our RX-V3800 video, it's quite a capable receiver as well.

2. Bose® Lifestyle® V20 and V30 home theater systems (left) include darn near everything you'll need in the box -- including two high-def-capable cables: component video and HDMI. Not to mention speaker cable and an automatic speaker calibration system. It's rare that pre-matched systems like these come this complete, so kudos. And it gave us a lot to talk about in the video for the Lifestyle V20 and V30 systems.

3. The Olympus 850 SW digital camera (right) is one rugged outdoor camera. If you like to go to the beach, enjoy hiking or camping, go sledding, ski, or otherwise play outside, this camera's right up your alley. It's really just too cool -- waterproof, dustproof, and it keeps working down to temperatures of 14°. From a video standpoint, I loved it. It's available in some nice bold colors -- the bright canary yellow of the model we used in the video really popped -- even under water in a fishbowl.
