Where is an illumination wire

OK Everyone,
Here is a weird one. I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado with OnStar and Bose.

Crutchfield had me get the Metra GMOS04 interface for my new NAV system. I have been working with them trying to figure out why the illumination signal was not passing to the Radio.

We figured out tonight that this "Class II" GM wiring that the truck has does not have an Illumination wire.

Does anyone know of a wiring diagram that could show me where I can tap into a 12v wire that only signals when the lights are on?

Please.... HELP!!!!

Here is the wiring diagram. If you look you can see that it does not have illumination.

Now I notice that when I start my truck, there is a high pitch "squeeling" coming from the back right door and it increases/decreases with the gas pedal. It's not that noticeable if I have the music up loud enough, but if I have it turned down low of off it's very frustrating! It's not coming from any of the other speakers and it definitely wasn't making this noise before I had the HU, changer, aux input (professionally) installed. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Some questions:

My goal is to significantly increase the sound clarity and introduce some nice, ultra-tight base. So at the very least, I'm thinking one or two sealed subs and a really good amp to drive them. Any suggestions / installation considerations?

How much SQ is there to be gained by replacing the 4 BOSE door speakers? Suggestions?

Does the factory "glove box" amp drive all 9 speakers?

Anyone know the specs on the factory rear pillar spkrs, door spearkers, sub, and/or amp?

If you've personally upgraded a Tahoe BOSE system, what components did you swap out, and what is currently driving what?

For #5, how did your upgrades change the sound, and any lessons learned?

Which Speakers for my system?

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab with a brand new Kenwood KDC-X991 head unit, factory Bose speakers, and 2 10" Memphis subwoofers with a 500 watt Memphis amp under the back seat. I listen to hard Rock, Metal, and Industrial music very loud, all the time (NIN, Static X, Metallica, etc..). My Bose speakers sound good and clear but do not get very loud or deep. I am looking to replace them with some high quality component speakers. I have narrowed my search down to either Infinity Kappa's or Polk MOMO's. These two brands seem to be the best on the market from what I have heard and read but I may be wrong. (Also, I believe my front speaker size is 6 1/2" and the rear doors are 4x6"). My HU has the most customizable audio features I have ever seen...for example, I can specify the distance each speaker is from my ears, vehicle type, various frequencies, dBs per speaker, and about 100 other options, so I want speakers that will make the most of my head units capabilities. I plan on purchasing an amp for them but Im not sure how the amp's RMS should compare to that of the speakers. Also, most of the speakers that will fit in my rear doors have lower wattage ratings than my front doors---so, if I buy a 70x4 channel amplifier for all my speakers but the front 2 are 90w RMS and the rear 2 are 40w RMS what will happen? Will the front speakers sound awesome and the rear speakers blow, or what?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks,

Adam

03 Tahoe Install

I have an 03 Tahoe with the Bose stereo. I want to put an amp and 2 twelves in the back of my tahoe. I was wondering if someone could tell me the steps I need to take to install these items?

2005 trailblazer speakers

Thanks ahead of time. Have a 2005 trailblazer with the bose factory installed system. While looking throught the speaker selection it did not show speakers for the front kick panels. There are currently speakers in there.... I can see them so can someone give me some direction as to the size??? Also I would like to use the factory installed tweeters... does this make sense with doing after market speakers? I installed the amp, sub and an Four-channel line output converter by SCOSCHE.

I am not getting an audio signal to my amp, I know this by testing my amp. I connected an mp3 player direct to the amp and it plays through the sub. I also checked the RCA cable and its good as well.

So its either the Line Output converter or my connections to the stock harness.

I have connected my converter to the rear speaker wires, on the white harness, (The main harness that has a black and white part)

A1 to Left Rear Brown
A2 to Left Rear Yellow
A3 to Right Rear Dark Blue
A4 to Right Rear Light Blue

(Ohh, I used Posi-Products™ Wire Connector Kit, they're like wire taps)

Should I try connecting to Front Speaker wires intsead? Or Do I need to connect all speaker wires, Front and Rear to the converter? I ordered from Crutchfield and they are sending me a replacement converter. I will get it here on Thursday. Can I do anything now to test and make sure everything is correct?

I don't know too much about how it's setup (i.e. is there bose amp built-in the factory radio, is it just a better speakers, etc..) so i'm trying to figure out what options i have without compromising the Bose system. What i would like to do but doubt i can is find a way to get an aux output so i can just use an MP3 player without carrying around cds but obviously the factory radio doesn't have such output. So is there a way to do this without buying an aftermarket radio? So with that being said if i do install an aftermarket radio would that compromise the bose setup? I have more questions but i'll wait to get answers to these first....
