I'm looking to use the 2 front factory bose amplifiers to power the new speakers. I know that the previous bose speakers have a 1 ohm impedence. There are 4 wires that connect to the fron woofer from the bose amp. My question is: are those wires just running in parrallel to achieve the 1 ohm impedence that would have been needed for the bose speakers? and can I just set them up to run in series to run with my new 4 ohm woofer? or is that not a good idea?

Re: Preserve factory Bose amp with Clarion DXZ465MP

I admit that I do not know anyone who has tried that before. I know that we recommend using the speaker level outputs with this Bose system interface harness that we offer and you will be able to keep all the system working like it does now. The issue is that Bose systems do not use a true preamp level signal with their amps. So, using the preamp outputs may not give a strong enough signal to the Bose amps.

Pathfinder Bose Sub and Amp hookup

Hey all,

I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with the "premium" bose package, which is in the least to say crap. It misses most of the lower frequencies even at medium volume. I really don't want to rip out everything but i will if i have to. I just want to add an amp with a kicker sub in the back. The only problem is, I have heard that the bose system is not compatible with any new equipment simply because it is running something like 1 ohm throughout the system.ARRG. so any advice would be AWESOME. thanks

Possible Bose Problems

Hey guys, Just wanted to run a question by your expert staff.

I have a 06 Altima with Bose. I would like to put in a aftermarket DVD receiver like a Pioneer AVIC-D3. I know that I need the Amplifier integrator and I plan on purchasing that. However, I talked with a car audio place about the Bose and they say it could be a problem. They state that it would work just connecting a new HU, however the sound quality would be horrible. Also the amp powering the subs in the rear would be some issue also. Do you guys know anything about this? Would the sound quality be better of worse? Any details regarding this is much appreciated.

Thanks

Bose Woes...

The title is fitting...Bose Woes...when it works it was fitting and finding a replacement is nothing but deadends. I have an 03 pathfinder le with Bose and my CD is on the fritz. I am considering an ipod and looking for some sound upgrades.

(Option 1) Would it at all be possible to swap my speakers and still utilize the bose amp setup along with an ipod hookup to the factory unit?

(Option 2) Or, would I solve the situation by just swapping the head unit? Can anyone recommend a CD with ipod or an affordable DVD head unit to swap without having to use all of the custom high/low adapters?

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5L w/o Bose Sound System . The Specifications are

In-dash stereo
8-1/4" depth; Size code DD,E

Front speakers
Dash : Tweeter factory speaker note
Front Door : 5-1/4" factory speaker note

Rear speakers
Rear Deck : 6x9"

I am thinking of getting a Pioneer Stereo but am not positive about speakers and subs.

I was wondering if you have to have a amp for speakers. What I'm trying to say is if you have powerful speakers but don't hook a amp up to them can that mess them up?

Could I Place Subwoofers under the front or rear seats?

Another question what are some good 5 1/4 and 6*9 speakers?

Are Pioneer Speakers Good? How Bout Pioneer Subwoofers? All answers are welcome. I'm only 16 and I pay insurance and gas.

Thanks,

Unlike "traditional" Bose factory systems, the 2001 Nissan Maxima has a factory amplifier, located under the rear deck, that powers all six speakers and sends a signal to an amplified subwoofer that is also in the trunk. If the installer tapped off the factory leads between the amp and the sub, you would not be getting the amplified signal you would need into the aftermarket crossover/amplifier.

If the installer tapped into the rear speakers, even after the factory amplifier, these channels could already be crossed over (high pass) and would not supply the deeper bass frequencies you would need.

Like most Bose systems, the actual specifications on wattage and frequency are hard to come by. I would recommend opening the factory sub enclosure to see if you can tap a signal lead after the sub amplifier to get the proper powered frequencies to connect to your aftermarket crossover/amplifier. This could prove difficult because the factory subwoofer is amplified within the enclosure, so finding the proper place to tap your leads may be a trial and error situation.

I hope that helps.

Anyone else have a good recommendation?

My original set was okay. I just got my friends box which was [extremely] loud ... in his car. It's no where near loud...barely audible in fact... [mod edit: language]

Is it more than likely that the genius who installed it originally spliced in before the amp and that is why my signal is so weak? Since it is a Bose they had to pull the signal off of my rear speaker and then run it through an adjustable crossover and then to my amp. Hope i was clear in what said. Thanks a lot. Any help would be great.

Re: pioneer deh-p6900ub/p5900ib in bose 350z

I have great news for you. We have researched your 2003 Nissan 350Z and the Bose system that came in it. We have found that you do not need any special integration adapter to keep the Bose amp and speakers working. Apparently, the Bose amp will accept speaker level signals. That means you can connect either of the Pioneer receivers and everything else will work (including the subwoofer). We do include the vehicle specific parts you need (the kit and the harness) for free with either Pioneer receiver.
