New speakers with an existing sub/amp

In my 2006 scion tc, I've already got a JL Audio w3ve 10" sub with a JL Audio G2250 amp and am looking into upgrading my factory speakers in the car. Would I have to buy another amp if I did this or would my G2250 amp be enough? I don't understand all this peak power, RMS, wattage, etc. stuff so someone please explain this to me. Also, if I don't need to get a new amp, whats the highest power (or wattage or whatever) speakers could I get?

Hey chico, thanks for the response. as a novice, im not sure about the gauge wire question, but i do have the rca cables running from the headunit ( jvc KD-AVX44J) to the amp. Do you think it might have something to do with the ohms?

Would it make a difference if I traded my 2ohm subs to 4ohms?

If you loook at this image: http://www.caraudiohelp.com/ohms_law/ohms_law.htm in the first picture, the subs are set up and connected together to one of the +/- instead of using both +/-. Maybe thats what I should do? Or what if I use the configuration similar to that second diagram (series wiring)?

I dont know. help :( btw i have a 03 suburban.

Hey, new to all this so any help would be greatly apprciated.

I am going to buy one JL Audio 10w3v3 in either the 2, 4 or 8 ohm, but i don't know which to get.

I do not have an amp yet, and from the reading I have done, I have determined that a mono class D would be the best way to go as I will just be running one sub. So, that being said I have checked on the JL audio site and their specs recommend an amp with an RMS of 350.

Also, I will be purchasing the Alpine CDE-9874, or the 9872.

So I have 3 questions:

1) Is the only difference between the 9874 and the 9872 bascially another set of pre amp outputs?

2) as I have not bought an amp yet, which JL 10w3v3 should I get.

3) given the choice I have made above, what amp do you recommend, how should I wire the amp to the sub, and am I looking for a particular impedence for the amp I purchase?

I have just got 2 JL Audio 10W3v3 subs with a 500/1v2 amp. I am looking to get some JL Audio speakers and tweeters to complete my system. Ive been looking at the JL Audio speakers and they all come with a woofer. what is this woofer included with the speakers? do u have any suggestions for what kind of speakers and tweeters i should get.

Kicker ZX400.1 or Alpine M450 for single 10 sub?

Hello,

I am either going to get a Kicker 10"CVR sub 400rms or a JL W3v3 10"sub 300rms.

I have a few question

1. Which amp would you recommend for either of these subs Kicker ZX400.1 or Alpine M450?

2. What ohm sub should I select with the amp?

3. How would you wire this combo you recommend to me.

4. Which sub do you think I will like better. I prefer quality over loudness and listen to mostly modern rock ex; three days grace, godsmack...

what would be a good amp for the JL 10W3v3 at 2 ohms? I am wanting a JL amp as well but i am up for any suggestions.
