Fitting a sub into the stock location of a 350Z

Now, I know everyone says it's not a good idea to put a new sub into the location that a 350Z comes with from the factory, but I tend not to listen to what other people think. What I was wondering was, from looking at the mounting hole and clearances, it concerns me that there is very little room, at the bottom of the stock location for a sub. I know the stock 10" BOSE sub was tapered drastically from front to back, and I saw pictures of a 10" COMPVR Kicker mounted up nicely, but it was also tapered pretty well. I am looking into installing a Pioneer Premier sub, amp, and speaker system to match the AVIC-F90BT head unit. The sub I am looking into is a TS-W1008D2. From looking at pioneer's website, and others, I know the sub is not tapered very much. Does anyone know if it will fit?

Ok heres the story. I have a 1992 Chevrolet Camaro (Third Gen) T-Top hatchback.

I have avenues of approach for subwoofers. I have the Choice between a single JL Audio 12W7 or...

A pair of JL Audio 12W6V2's

Either would be powered with a JL 1000/1 amp but im torn between the two. I have not been into car audio since high school and forgot just about all i learned. What are the pro's and cons VS the two. Will 2 W6's hit harder then a single W7? should i go ported or unported? Should i hook up all three? Im lost in this area and would appreciate any help??? do i need to spend this much on an amp or is there a comparible amp for a fraction of the Price?

Here's myself

The 2001 Lamborghini Was installed in the fall of 2007 and will be featured in Car Audio Magazine in February of 08.

The install was made using all Exile Car Audio Equipment. A low profile 10" Exile X-tec sub is placed behind the passenger seat and X-tec component speakers were used in the install.

The head unit is stock.

How hard would it be to wire 2 head units to work in the same vehicle? I have the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X991 and Im thinking about adding a cheap 7 inch flip out monitor DVD HU > like a Jensen or Dual ($400-$500). My reasoning in doing this is I love the way my kenwood looks and sounds and I cannot find the same aesthetic quality or customizing capabilities in any DVD head unit out there. And as far as sound quality and functionality, nothing else can touch it. My vehicle is a 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext. Cab with the Kenwood in the main DIN. I would install the DVD unit in the lower cubby hole of my center console. I know this may sound goofy but I would like to know how feasible this is to do.

I assume I would have to have some sort of switch to direct the power to one unit at a time?? Or--could I somehow plug the Jensen flip out DVD into the AUX input of my Kenwood so the sound quality would be much better than the Jensen's?

Center speaker wiring?

How would I wire in a speaker that is going to be mounted in the center of the top of a dash? I don't just want to wire it as a side speaker because i have lots of music that creates surrounding sounds, I would love to have it create that "center" sound. Thanks!

Speaker wire installation to front door of Mazda 5?

I am looking for any instructions, tips on getting 14 gauge wire to the front doors on my Mazda 5. I would like to use the rubber grommet that the factory speakers use to run from the dash to the speakers in the doors. The amplifier I purchased at Crutchfield recommends running nothing less than that size directly to the door speakers. On a former amp installation in another vehicle I just jumped a track on the inside but on this one the door angle appears to cut the angle to closely and will cut the speaker in time?

Any ideas?

truck is stock w/ 4x10 in rear pillar, I want 6x9's. Anyone heard of a bracket that would allow 6x9 frame to mount to the bracket, and in turn , have tabs that could be screwed to metal pillar between door panel and storage area behind seat? When I was younger I had a 79 with this set-up but cannot locate anything now for the 84.

Strange speaker noise (my first installation)

THE PROBLEM: I get what I’d describe as kind of a hissing noise, its very strange because the noise is not always as severe and in some songs there is no noise where others you cannot listen to the song at all because its so bad. Also the noise sometimes is only apparent to one part of the music like the guitar could have a ton of noise where the vocals and bass are crystal clear. Other times it sounds like everything has noise. I get the noise playing cds or listening to the radio am or fm. The noise will happen with the volume all the way up or almost all the way down (as low as I can hear and the hissing gets louder with the music as you turn it up or quieter as you turn it down. It affects all four speakers. And it does not seem to change as i go faster or slower and still exists with the engine off. Some songs will sound fine where others will have so much noise the song is not listen-to able at all. I can change the song or station even when there is a lot of noise and still another station or song may sound great. The same stations do not always sound good sometimes one will be crystal clear a while later may have a lot of noise. With some radio stations the talk show hosts sound fine where others have the noise in the talking and sometimes one station has it other times it does not. The same goes with cds sometimes a song sounds good other times it does not, songs that sound extremely bad always sound bad no matter the day although the noise is not always as bad. I have tried unplugging the front speaker’s one at a time and try different stations/cds/songs and it did not make a difference either way. I have not tried unplugging the back speaker’s one at a time yet because i have not had time so that’s what ill be doing tomorrow. Any advice/suggestions or things to try would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 99 Toyota corolla; I recently installed four new speakers. This was my first speaker installation so I may have missed something but I researched how to do this followed the book on my car and have spent hours browsing online reading how to install speakers. I'll start by explaining what i have, originally I had all of my stock Toyota speakers and my deck was a Sony xplode cdx-gtx 200 series. I had Rc-Willy install the sony xplode deck, 3 weeks after they installed it my car wouldn't start wouldn't do anything at all, I had it towed and the mechanic who repaired it asked me i recently installed a new cd player when I told him yes he informed me they installed it wrong and it burned up my ignition wire, he re wired everything correctly and now almost a year later I decided to try upgrading the speakers on my own, I realize the speakers I bought are not the best but they should be better than the stock ones. Before I installed the new speakers there didn't appear to be any noise at all. The speaker’s specs are:

I used the stock speaker wiring, I just unclipped the old speakers and snipped the ends off the wires and pinched on new ends to the wires with needle nose pliers. The front speakers on the corolla are riveted on, I drilled through the rivets and removed the old speaker, the speaker basically was a speaker and bracket all in one, I cut the speaker out and made its casing into a bracket then drilled holes to match up to the new speaker I coated the top of the speaker mount I made from the old speaker with an off brand dynomat type material and was able to reuse the weather guard. I then re-riveted the front speakers to the stock holes. On the back i was able to just drill two new holes in plastic bracket and mount the speakers. I installed the noise dampening pads behind the speakers in the front doors and in the back on the metal areas around the speakers and in the trunk area in several places. I hope I have provided enough information to give a pretty good idea of where I’m at I appreciate any help thanks.

anything is possiable if you want it to work.....but hears another idea why not use a set of kick panel pods and just make an adjustment ring to fit the 5 X7s in there?
