The reason why the Alpine SPR-17C is not marked as fitting is because of the way that our system is set up. While the factory speaker and the SPR-17C are both marked as 6.5"/6.75" speakers, their actual dimensions differ just enough that the Alpine speaker is not an exact fit. With some modification to the factory housing, it may be possible to install the speaker, our "Outfit My Car" feature is designed you only show you the speakers that will fit with no modifications necessary to the housing. This way customers don't get an unpleasant surprise when they order a speaker that is the same "size" but does not fit in the location when they try to install it.

For this specific speaker, the reason that it doesn't fit is because the cutout diameter of your housing is 4.997". The SPR-17C requires a cutout diameter of 5.372" in order to fit in the housing. In order to make that speaker fit the housing, you would need to enlarge the hole by .375" (or 3/8").

Regarding the speaker and amplifier selection, you've done a great job. Both the SPR-17C and the SPR-69C have a power handling of 2-100w RMS. The Alpine MRP-F550 provides 90wRMS per speaker, while the Alpine PDX-4.100 provides 100wRMS per speaker -right at the speakers' rating. We recommend that a speaker receives at least 70% of its rated power handling, so your speakers would sound great with either amplifier.

Sub/Amp Selection...

ok now i got a debate on which brand of sub/amp 2 get. My car is a 94 Buick Lesabre Custom. gotta lot of **** trunk space. i'm thinkin bout gettin either 2 12"s or 2 15"s. The stereo i'm gettin is a Pioneer DEH-P5900iB. Now With da subs not sure. Option #1.... Be cheap an get the Alpine bass package which includes...MRP-450 Amp, 2 12" SWE-1242 Subs, an a basic Q-Logic Box...Option #2..2 15" Kicker CompVR's, Custom box....now the thing is it's gonna be my first set of subs an i wanna do it big an am not sure on wat 2 get. so if anybody has some advice, recommendations on what 2 get an whatnot i'd appreciate it..... willing 2 spend bout 1500....or less which ever the products fall in so hit me up leave somethin useful...my goal is 2 create earthquakes ya feel me... make ppl at my apartments trip an da cops flip.........1

Ok, I have 3 Alpine type r 2 ohm subs i was wondering whats an inexpensive amp that would pound these and how would i wire them.

they will be in a custom ported box.
