  • Amp Clearification, Need Help...

I have 2 Alpine SWR-1242D subwoofers. And I've been told that I should get two amplifiers, one for each sub. Now, is this really necessary? If I do need 2 amps, I'm planning on getting the Alpine PDX-1.600. If not, I would like to get the JL Audio Slash v2 1000/1v2 to power both subs. If anyone could...

  • Re: WHAT TYPE OF AMP SHLD I USE....help

Specifically, are the 12" subs the 2-ohm DVC or 4-ohm DVC version? If they are 2-ohm, then you can wire them to a mono amp that can handle a 3 ohm load. • AMPS

To power two subwoofers is it better to use a mono amp or a 2channel amp? This ? is using 2 DVC 2ohm subwoofers, wired at a 2 ohm load(parallel).

  • 2-channel or Mono-block

I would like to purchase an amp and a sub in the near future and I was wondering what the best combinations would be? I think I would like to get a 2-ohm DVC sub, and a 2-channel amp, with the sub wired so the amp sees 4-ohms. However, I would go with a mono-block and a DVC at 2-ohms if it makes the...
