  • Re: Strange speaker noise (my first installation)

After reading your post and noticing that the noise started when you changed the speakers, I think that the reason may be linked with them. I noticed that they do handle a lot of power. Usually a high sensitivity will counter act that high power need, but this time it may not. It sounds like they need...

Do you have the RCA's ran on the opposite side of the power wiring? Do you have a clean ground (no poly coating on the metal)? Another possibility...

Running 4 gauge kicker wires, braided rca cords and oxygen free speaker cables. the problem I have is a warbling sound through the speakers, also a slight static pop when the unit is turned on. the power cable is connected directly to the battery...

  • Please help me with my subs.

This will be long, because I have much to explain. I have 2 Polk 12" subs in a sealed Q-Logic box in a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. That is the one thing that has remained constant in this equation. The subs will make a loud rumbling sound (not the good kind) of their own accord. The volume control...
