  • Re: Ipod connection to Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS

First, I want to say that the CD-IU205V will not work. That one only works with the Pioneer AVH-P5100DVD receiver. As for the CD-I200 , I cannot find anything to indicate that it works with your DEH-P880PRS . However, after looking at the information on Pioneer's web site about it, I don't think...

  • Re: How to get better mid-range?

I tried putting the mid up to +4 and the treble as low as -5 and that helped a little but not a lot. So you're saying try the speakers without the high pass filter on? I'll also try raising the sub crossover. Front speakers: TS-G1042R. Rear speakers: TS-G1342R. Many thanks!

  • Help With Sub Selection

Got a new question for folks. Trying to decide between an Alpine Type S 12" Sub (4ohm Dual Voice Coil) vs. JL Audio 12W1 vs Pioneer TS-SW1201S4 (4Ohm) or TS-SW1201S2 (2Ohm). or other suggestion. This will be going into a 2001 Corvette with a Custom Box needing a shallow mount woofer. Mounting Depth...

  • First Time Buyer: considering a simple upgrade over stock but have questions

I recently got my first car: a 2000 volksvagen beetle but have been driving it for years. I have never been impressed with the car speakers so I want to upgrade them but not substantially because I do not want to invest too much in this car and I do not need 'loud' blasting music. I just want...

  • Will lossless files work in your car stereo?

Selecting higher bit rates when ripping digital music files gives you better sound quality. The trade-off, as we've discussed , is that the files are bigger, and fewer of them will fit on whatever storage medium you choose - an iPod® or other MP3 player, your computer, an external hard drive, a USB thumb...

  • 3 Benefits of Using USB to Connect an iPod to a Car Stereo

My old iPod® mini died a couple of weeks ago. No need to mourn, it had a good life. But when I purchased a new 8GB iPod nano , I realized something important about car receivers and iPods. My car receiver, a Pioneer DEH-P7000BT , has a USB input that supports iPod connection and control. The USB connection...

  • Bluetooth in the car -- hands-free and loving it!

I’ll admit it — I’m not usually an early adopter. You won’t find me running out to the store to pick up the latest gee-whiz tech devices just because they’re new. Heck, I didn’t even own a cell phone until last year. But sometimes a new technology or product offers so many benefits and useful features...

  • Getting great sound on your boat is easier than you think

I took a vacation with my family in Maine recently, where our main mode of transportation was a 19-foot center-console boat with room for six. Earlier in the year, in a conversation with my father, I learned that he and my mother were occasionally toting a small battery-powered radio out on the water...
