So my computer at work has one VGA output. I tried getting a VGA splitter for a second monitor, but apparently it just makes a clone of the monitor - not something I can extend and multitask. Is there a way around this without switching the video card?
Special adapters or what not?
I am not the best with computer parts as we don't carry them. Also, my VGA use predates dual screen systems. But from what I remember, you need a video card with two VGA monitor outputs to use that connection for extended workspace/desktop applications. I don't think VGA allowed bi-directional communication so the monitors could talk to the OS and tell it to send different video to each.
Does anyone know for sure if this is the case?
